Max Montanaro is a singer, songwriter and guitarist performing a fresh blend of rock and jazz across London and beyond. Drawing on influences from Deftones to Portishead to Joni Mitchell, he bridges the gap between delicate songwriting and explosive heaviness through dynamic arrangements. Since moving to London to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, he has performed headline shows at venues such as the Troubadour and Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s. The release of his debut single, ‘Princess Pretzel’, revealed a distinctive style and he was made a featured artist on BBC Introducing in the West. Its follow up, ‘Overgrown’, was heard live in session on Soho Radio. Max is a versatile collaborator and often shares the stage with rising jazz fusion band Knats.
