Declared as “Ones to watch” by Rolling Stone magazine and “f*ing timeless” by The Music Venue Trust. MAYA are a local Kingston based post-punk/alt-rock act with a catalogue honed by a year of eccentric and energetic live performances across London and beyond. Most recently, MAYA reached the national finals of Greene King’s Untapped competition, where they were hailed as heirs to The Hives and IDLES by Sam Ryder and Danny Jones (McFly). Hanwell Hootie would be perfect for us, we love performing locally and we’re already familiar with the festival through working with local youth charity The Basement Door. MAYA have big aspirations over the next year, planning to sell out our biggest show yet at Circuit Kingston (1100 capacity) on 25th April alongside an album release, all sponsored by Jack Daniel’s. Performing at Hanwell Hootie a month after would be a great way to kick off festival season!
