Modern British-Irish band music with heart and grit. The Outlawed are a London-based band built on emotive songwriting and a live energy that bridges intimate storytelling with anthemic scale. Rooted in contemporary pop and alternative rock, the project blends modern pop production with indie rock band DNA. It’s music that feels honest and real. Fronted by Irish songwriter, producer, and artist Josh Gray, The Outlawed exists because of vulnerability and confidence: songs about love, loss, resilience, and choosing connection over chaos.

The Sound: Think emotional pop meets live band power. Warm guitars, driving rhythms, and modern textures underpin lyrics that feel lived-in rather than polished for effect. Influences sit in the lane of OneRepublic, The Script, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bellion, and early Coldplay. Filtered through a stripped-back, contemporary sound that’s made for today’s listeners and playlists. Big choruses, honest verses, and songs that hit both in headphones and in a room full of people. The band The Outlawed formed through long-term friendship and collaboration and years of writing, gigging, recording, and together that naturally evolved into a band. Josh Gray — lead vocals, songwriter, guitarist, producer (The Script, Astro, A.C.E) Daniel Griffin — bassist, producer, engineer (session studio player with credits including Will.i.am, Stormzy, Miley Cyrus, and Mark Ronson) Joe Arksey — guitarist, producer (touring musician for Rex Orange County) Ollie Thacker — drummer, musical director, songwriter and tour manager. Previously worked with artists inc Henry Moodie and Caity Baser.
